The Existence Project is seeking $50,000 in community support to continue our work of humanizing homelessness across British Columbia in 2025. Through storyteller training, listening workshops, and public events, we empower people with lived experience of homelessness to reclaim their narratives, while fostering understanding and empathy among housed community members. Our new trauma-informed workshop series will equip government staff, retail workers, security personnel, and community groups with the skills to engage with unhoused individuals compassionately and effectively, reducing stigma and influencing more equitable policies and practices.

As we transition to a more sustainable funding model through these workshops, we need immediate community support to keep our existing programs running. Like many organisations doing this work, we have faced funding challenges due to shifting donor priorities and an increasingly competitive grant landscape. But we remain committed to this work—because when stories are heard, communities transform.
