FOR SCHOOLS

A storytelling workshop for schools and classrooms that want to build connection and understanding of youth facing barriers to inclusion

A workshop transforming education.

An innovative workshop for classrooms to build connection and understanding to the lived experience of marginalized youth.

Each workshop engages your students in:

Story - Listening to an intimate story from a trained storyteller with lived experience of adversity as a youth
Reflection - Asking questions and engaging in meaningful group dialogue
Relationship - Building a personal relationship to the story through a guided creative process.

What do your students get out of it?

-An opportunity to discuss issues that are affecting themselves and their peers (ex. bullying, youth homelessness, mental illness)
-A collective sense of inclusivity and social awareness
-A greater individual capacity for deep listening and empathy
-A strategy for ongoing learning

We employ and train storytellers who have overcome a wide range of adverse lived experiences: lived experience of homelessness, addiction challenges, mental health challenges and more! Each storyteller is prepared and supported with professional training & coaching prior to an event and all storytellers come from stable, supported life situations in the present.

“I think we need to let youth know that there is help that they can get and don't be afraid to open up about what's going on..”
